The consultation period for 'Exploring the publication of solicitors' complaint records' closed to responses on 24 April 2008. We would like to thank everyone who took time to respond to the paper; your contribution is greatly appreciated.

In June our board considered a report on all consultation responses. The board expressed support for the principle of publishing complaints. The debate was very thorough and reviewed the practical issues that had been identified as a result of the consultation.

The Board agreed that a number of options were worth further examination and discussion. We are investigating these issues thoroughly before the July board meeting, when they will be discussed further. We will also be talking to our stakeholders where appropriate.

Our response document will be published by 10 October.

London legal sponsored walk

On 19 May 2008, some of our staff, alongside 3,500 other members of the legal profession, walked 10 km in support of London Legal Support Trust. We raised over £500 for the trust which supports the work of social welfare legal centres in London and the home counties.
